Project Overview

Relocation Strategies was retained to manage the relocation of VTS Sheetmetal Specialist’s fabrication facility from its city-owned location in Anaheim to Garden Grove. As the City of Anaheim was reimbursing VTS for its relocation expenses, Relocation Strategies developed a budget with appropriate contingencies that was approved by the city.

Management of the tenant improvements required diligent effort from Relocation Strategies.  There was a detailed design process that included an Edison upgrade to accommodate VTS’s usage and structural engineering improvements for the specific areas where their heavier machinery was being placed.  Additionally, the City of Garden Grove required all machines to have UL listing, which required a comprehensive UL listing program to determine the specific requirements and making any necessary repairs or upgrades to the machines.

The physical relocation involving machine specialists to disconnect and reconnect certain machines, riggers and movers was phased in over a one-week period.  Using a carefully choregraphed schedule, Relocation Strategies was able to minimize the reduction to VTS’s operational productivity.
