Relocation Strategies was retained to relocate the winemaking operations of Cali Wine & Vine, a Temecula-based winemaker. Having grown into multiple buildings, Cali Wine & Vine had secured a large building in which to consolidate its operations and allow for future expansion.
The project included an immediate move of a warehouse in order to avoid holdover rent. The move of the wine-making operations involved managing several postponements with both trucking and rigging companies as the effort needed to be sequenced tightly with building approvals, which hit various delays.
Despite the extended timeframe for construction, Relocation Strategies saved the client multiples of our fee through our vendor selection process as well as sourcing upgraded office furniture from another client.

Relocating a food and beverage production facility requires a phased move strategy that sequences equipment decommissioning, transport, and recommissioning around active production schedules rather than shutting down operations entirely. Unlike a standard commercial office move, production facility relocations involve specialty equipment — fermentation tanks, bottling lines, refrigeration systems, and water filtration infrastructure — that requires certified rigging, precise sequencing, and manufacturer-supervised reinstallation.
Relocation Strategies develops a comprehensive facility relocation plan that maps every piece of equipment, every vendor dependency, and every production-critical timeline against a master project schedule. By managing rigging contractors, inventory transfer, vendor coordination, and on-site oversight under one integrated plan, production facilities can relocate in phases without interrupting the output commitments that drive the business.
Specialty equipment including manufacturing machinery, production lines, and industrial systems requires certified rigging contractors, engineered lift plans, and post-move reinstallation validation before any equipment is returned to service. Relocation Strategies manages the full specialty equipment logistics chain — from rigging contractor selection and vendor vetting through transport, reinstallation coordination, and operational sign-off — for every production facility relocation engagement.
No equipment moves until the destination is confirmed ready to receive it and the reinstallation sequence is validated against the manufacturer’s requirements. Rigging vendors are selected through a competitive bid and RFP process and are held accountable to the master project schedule throughout the engagement. The result is equipment that arrives correctly, installs correctly, and operates correctly from day one in the new facility.
Cost reduction on the Cali Wine relocation came from two sources. First, the competitive vendor bidding process across every service category — rigging, inventory transfer, move management, and on-site coordination — produced pricing that was competitive against initial market estimates. Second, Relocation Strategies sourced upgraded office furniture from within its existing client network, allowing Cali Wine to receive better quality furniture than they were replacing while paying only the cost of freight — eliminating furniture procurement costs entirely.
This is an example of the value that professional relocation project management delivers beyond logistics. Relocation Strategies maintains relationships across its client base and vendor network that create cost saving opportunities unavailable to businesses managing a move independently. The project management fee is almost always recovered through savings like these — and in many cases, clients finish the relocation under the budget they had before professional project management was engaged.
